A community rooted in Zanzibar, connected to the world.
We started as a small group of developers meeting over chai in Stone Town. Today we connect students, freelancers, startup founders and engineers who want to grow Zanzibar's tech ecosystem.

Do I need to be an experienced developer to join?
Not at all. Many of our members are students or just starting out. Our beginner workshops and mentorship program are designed for you.
Does it cost anything?
No. Membership and most events are completely free, thanks to our volunteers and partners.
I live in Pemba or outside Zanzibar. Can I take part?
Yes! We run regular Pemba chapter events and stream many sessions online. Everyone is welcome, wherever you are.
How can I give a talk or run a workshop?
We love new speakers. Sign up above and mention the topic you'd like to share, and an organizer will reach out to help you prepare.
How can my company partner with or sponsor the community?
Partners help with venues, internet, food and prizes for hackathons, and in return connect with local talent. Get in touch through any of our channels.
